"It is so important to our growing community here in the Joplin area, that we have such
business people as Joe and Michelle Burtrum that have a genuine care and concern for the people that
come to Joplin to utilize they're facility at the Jack Webb Convention Center
I have personally seen many of the people that have rented the Jack Lawton Webb Convention Center
and it is pretty obvious that they are happily overwhelmed by the courtesy they received by the Burtrum's, not to mention the best rates in the area!
Often times when we are out providing marketing and promotion of Joplin, Branson and Grand Lake areas from town to town
and we tend to run into numerous convention center management that just toss you the keys and say here it is get after it.
Extending absolutely no offer of assistance or a display of whether they care if you come back again or not.
When the folks travel from across the nation to come to the Jack Webb Convention Center they are met with a genuine concern
of helpfulness, and even offering assistance in different ways to sit up they're show.
Where as the 'chain hotel employees have to call the head office to see what can be done or what they could do... but remember these are
employees... not owners such as Joe and his family.
The Joplin area should be extremely proud of the Burtrum family and the desire they have and continually do to bring more and more
visitor's to the area... Thus bringing more cash money into our community, a bonus to all the area business owners.
Who benefits... The motels, the restaurants, the shopping centers, the area attractions, businesses of all kinds are treated to
a sudden flush of unexpected cash flow which directly affects they're bottom line when the special events are being held at the Jack Lawton Webb Convention Center!
The traffic the shows create as well as the extra income that comes to the Joplin business communities by the venders money for gas, food, lodging and much more
There are many reasons that this family operated business has won our prestigeous award in this category year after year... They care about the fellow business owners and the fact that they are creating some extra income during
the events that they host... They truley bring back the old time Good Ole Boy mindset of "You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours."
You know like when a neighbor's barn burned down, the neighbors all gathered and help raise a new barn... What I am trying to say is that the Burtrum's carry the same old fasioned' lifestyle as years gone by, I guess that's why so many renters of the convention center come back time after time!
It boils down to Business people working together!
