Terry Gene and Valerie Hembree, residents of Grove, Oklahoma... located in Northeastern Oklahoma
on Grand Lake O' The Cherokees.
We are committed to bringing our personal collection of Mantle memorabilia
for public viewing in the attempt to secure the memory of baseball great
Mickey Charles Mantle, the "Commerce Comet"
We are an absolutely free exhibit, nothing in the exhibit is for sale, we sell no
souvenirs or memorabilia items. Donations are welcome but not solicited.
Mixing memories of Mickey from his birth in Spavinaw, Oklahoma just a few miles away,
to the home town of Commerce, Oklahoma just a few miles in the other direction, to his
playing as a youth in the Baxter Whiz Kids in Kansas, through his years as New York Yankee #6 and #7,
through his many business ventures, his autograph sessions, and his final days raising monies for
numerous charities through his Mickey Mantle Celebrity Golf Classics.
Mickey Mantle was more than just a ball player, he was an idol to millions, a friend, a father,
a grandfather and a very special person to the multitude of the Make A Wish Children and other
charity participants.
Yes... Mick' is gone but with your help his memory will never die.
We dedicate this tribute to the memory of Mickey, to his wife Merlyn, his son's David, Danny,
Mickey Junior and Billy.
Thank you for your interest, and please pass the word on concerning this great Memorial.
Due to the owner's recent strokes and health issues the Mickey Mantle Exhibit and Museum has become a Private Exhibit
Due to the lack of interest of the City of Grove, Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and the Grand Lake Association.
