WATER SAFETY TIPS...

As more and more boats continue to operate on Grand Lake for recreation, safe boating becomes increasingly important to prevent accidents, injuries and death.

The basic rules that apply to yachts, ski boats, bass boats and other power boats, also apply to all types of personal watercraft. Please remember these simple safety tips.

Wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket. Keep a safe distance from beaches, swimmers and boaters.

Turn or change course carefully so other boaters can predict your direction. Legal running lights are required to operate at night.

Never operate personal watercraft when visibility is limited.

Do not jump wake near boats producing the wake or interfere with the skiers.

Know and understand the marine rules of the road.

Observe speed limits and regulations.
